Can I save these dying blooms and make a potpourri kind of thing?

Gardenias only stay pretty for a very few days and I LOVE their scent. Can I save these dying yellow remnants and dry them or do something to save the scent for inside my house? If so, what do I do exactly?

Hi Louise. I'm Cindy. I love gardenias too. The smell is heavenly, right? To dry flowers, you will need to hang them upside down for a couple weeks. When I dried flowers last year, I made small bundles of flowers, some greenery, and a sprig of baby's breath. I wrapped rubber bands around the stalks. Then I used safety pins to go thru the rubber band and hang from my kitchen curtains. They hung for 2 weeks and dried perfectly. Good luck Louise.

yes you can dry the petals and save them in a tall container like a plastic pet food container or any large pretzel container for example. Then add to a pot pourri pot with some oil scents. My Grandma did this all her life with her flowers and she had many. They make wonderful gifts! (add mini lights to a jar of it and ribbon etc.)
