Looking at her apartment window
My friend lives in an apartment complex and has a small patio. The patio is near the walkway that is connected to other apartments. What can she do to give herself a little privacy. She doesn't have a lot of money and needs a cheap and easy fix. Thanks for your suggestions.

I think adding some large planters or barrels with a wooden post in each would be a good base to hold a piece of lattice for privacy. Instead of hanging the lights (like shown), lattice can be attached instead. She can probably find these items on local garage sale sites for really cheap also. I've included some links that can help with more ideas:

What a cute little outdoor area! So she doesn't want to be the official apt. greeter? Understandable. For a DIY fencing use bamboo. It's inexpensive and can be rolled up. Use 5 gallon buckets, paint a pleasing color and fill with sand. Use fencing posts inside the buckets and attach the fencing to the posts (you can use nails, staples or plastic zip ties -- the ties are the easiest). For a more expensive off the rack type of privacy fence, the one below at Wayfair is quite nice. Good luck.

try a shower pole between drain pipe and wall with sheers but put some weights or another pole at the bottom to keep sheers snug
