In cool mode the compressor shuts off when the temperature reaches the level set in the thermostat but the fan keeps running. The compressor starts again when the room temperature increases. In the energy saver or power saver mode, even the fan switches off when the temperature reaches the level set in the thermostat.

  • The modes tell the AC how to run. Usually auto mode sets the temperature by detecting the temperature of the room. Dry mode will have it act as a dehumidifier. It depends on the unit you have, Joyce.

Mode the units settings & it really depends on the unit you have what the settings are & how many settings it has ------automatic(auto) fan/ac/heat only turns on when thermostat detects temp change & it needs to turn itself on, or if it's on manual-you turn fan off or on-runs continually until you change it;could adjust which unit is running if you have multiple ones;could mean if it's on heat or ac or both completelyoff;Eco means economy runs on lowest settings to conserve power(good if going away for extended times);also may have Humidity controls remove moisture from air(dry/dehumidifier) or add moisture(whole house humidifier)
