We buy transfer sheets to fabric from the office supply store. You print off the photo, then iron them on to the fabric. Instructions are very clear and come with the transfers. Maybe this would work for you too. Hope this helps Paula.

I have used iron ons before. I did it to make these kitchen towels here. Here is a post that had several ways to transfer to fabric.
