How to stop raccoons from flipping my newly laid sod?

New sod had neen laid in my back yard last June. This year while we were on vacation, raccoons have come one night and flipped over many squares of my sod . Looking for grubs beneath? Any suggestions on how to deter them . They have been seen to live in culverts on our street. Caused much damage to neighbours roof as well and getting into attics.

If the sod had been turned over for grubs, that might actually been from skunks. Grubs are often found in the hot times of summer in dry areas. Maybe that sodded area wasn't thoroughly watered.
Mix hot sauce and water in a spray bottle. The ratio doesn’t have to be measured, but the hotter, the better. Spray the ground. This works for dogs digging, so it should work for other critters. Good luck!
U need to go to a garden centre and tell them about your grubs! They will sell you the stuff to get rid of these grubs!
