I have used spray and the traps. Both work but you have to reapply the spray and it is not good for any bugs let alone the birds. The traps work well but be careful where you put them as the beetles swarm them and you don't want that near you. The instructions say to put away from your house and garden and replace often depending on your problem. The traps stink when they have trapped the bugs and they are expensive to me. My neighbor hand picked them off her plants and drowned them in beer but I'm not into picking bugs of any kind so that is out for me. If you use the spray be sure to spray the ground underneath the plant that they are destroying as that is where the eggs and larva will end up and reinfest your garden next year.
