How do I create an office space?

I live in a small two-bedroom apartment my husband publishes a magazine so right when you walk in the door I have a table set up with his computer on it need something that looks nice when people walk in that's the first thing they see

I used to have a great corner desk from Ikea, fits perfectly in the corner, has the attached hutch with shelves and drawers for storage as well as drawers on each side on the actual desk. Search corner desk on ikea. Perfect for a small apartment or bedroom-!

I have a similar situation in my daughter's room. Basically, I built a desk top (you can buy these as well) and use hinges mounted to the wall. When she needs the desk, she lifts up the desk and it locks in place. When she is done, she lifts up and it gently drops back to the wall. The desk can be the same color as the wall so that it blends or it can be decorative (different color, stained wood) to add a decorative look.
