Don't waste money on home remedies or retail store products, I already did that. Carpenter ants are very hard to get rid of, they seem to disappear, but are hiding in your walls. This is a strong product so make sure you read and follow directions it can only be sprayed outside, keep children and pets away until it dries.

Try using boric acid bug balls, mabe mix in a little sugar to attract them them eventually killing them with the boric acid bait. Good luck
Borax will work with the sugar and a bit of water to make a syrup.
