How do I water my raised garden on my deck for two weeks?

I have tried watering globes and inverted soda bottles filled with water in the past, but even those hacks are not quite enough. Is there a better suggestion that may help keep my plants alive. If not what flowers and vegetables are best to grow in a raised bed garden that are drought resistant?

Is the time period due to a holiday? Do you have a favourite nursery or a hort school nearby? Try asking help from them too? Drip watering systems, wicking set ups may help. How big is your garden?

Hi Harvey, You need a drip irrigation system! It's on a timer and is easy to install. Here's a video how to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y5O3tdD1yxA

    Good luck

  • Everything in my yard is on a sprinkler or drip system. It took a bit of time and a few dollars, but that way I can just set it and forget it.

Another option is to get a friend or neighbor to come water for you.

Where I live it gets brutally hot and nothing will live for any length of time without regular watering.

Where do you live? Do you know what zone you are in? How long will you be gone? What are the projected temps while you are on holiday?

Drip irrigation and timer would be great....Do your neighbors have a teenager that would like to earn money watering your flowers/garden? Or if you have a friend or neighbor you could trade times with (water their yard if needed) that would work!
