DIY Pom Pom Garland

I have to share this fun pom pom garland with you because it's the perfect way to add color to your home this summer or decorate a party or bbq. It's so easy to make, but can take a while (depending on how long you want your garland) so you should definitely start making pom poms now.

I wanted a pom pom garland for Christmas a couple years ago, but loved the garland so much that I kept it up for over 6 months. I recently pulled it out again because it's bright and colorful and really brightens up the space.

Figure out how long you want your garland to be and cut your yarn to length. I used 6 pieces of yarn and tied together at one end.

I braided the yarn and tied at the other end.

This is the part that took forever for me... making pom poms! I made pom poms non-stop. I made them in the car while my husband drove, I made them when the kids jumped on the trampoline or while I watched tv.

My garland was about 20ft long and completely filled with pom poms. Obviously, when you space out your pom poms, you will need less, but I wanted a fat, chunky garland.

Tie your pom poms to the garland with a double knot.

Start filling up your garland.

Hang your garland on the stairs, on a porch or even from a tree!
