Get glowing skin this summer with this tutorial for DIY sugar scrub bars that naturally exfoliate and cleanse skin in one easy step. If you've ever almost accidentally killed your significant other after that DIY body scrub, then maybe try this homemade summer skin care recipe for your next project instead.

Your skin care routine doesn't have to be messy. While many traditional sugar scrubs leave the bottom of your tub slippery - and not so clean - this nifty 2-in-1 sugar scrub bar recipe combines the exfoliating power of a sugar scrub in with a naturally nourishing homemade soap bar.

Grab the recipe for my DIY sugar scrub bars at Soap Deli News blog here. Then follow along through the steps for this homemade beauty project below to craft your own summer skin care products!

You'll begin by making the sugar scrub heart centers for these DIY Sugar Scrub Soap Bars for glowing skin. To do this, weigh out the clear melt and pour soap base. Then cut into chunks and melt.

Follow with the shea butter to moisturize skin. Weigh out the amount called for in the recipe. Then heat into melted. Stir into the melted soap base.

Now add the soap colorant. Stir to combine. Then follow with the sugar. Weigh out the sugar, then stir into the melted soap base and butter.

Finally, pour the solid sugar scrub mixture into a mini heart shaped silicone mold. Allow the bars to fully cool and harden, then remove from the mold.

In a separate round silicone mold, weigh out the white melt and pour soap base. Cut into chunks then heat until melted. Add the fragrance oil and stir to combine.

Fill each of the cavities of the round mold about halfway. Then allow to harden.

Once the white soap base has fully hardened, spritz the tops of the soap with rubbing alcohol. Then place each of your solid sugar scrub hearts on top of the solidified white soap base.

Pour the remainder of the melted white soap base into the molds around the heart scrub embeds. Then spritz the tops of the soap with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles.

Once the soap has set up, remove the completed DIY sugar scrub bars from the mold. Then wrap and label as desired for personal use or gifting.
