How To Make A Placemat Clutch Planter

I spotted some pretty place mats and I wanted to think of a way to use them in my home decor. After some experimenting, I came up with a really cute clutch planter idea.

I began by threading my sewing machine.

Next I took the place mat and folded it in thirds, like an envelope, I brought the bottom to the middle.

It should look like this!

I then sewed the sides (only).

the two sides Sewed look like this

I then used a necklace brooch as the closure.

I painted the chain black and then sprayed it a little sliver to give it a vintage look to match my closure. I then glued it along the inside flap of the clutch.

I glued the brochure to the top half of the envelope edge.

The clutch is all finished and ready to go! (Would make a great evening bag)

I loved it, but also wanted to use it in my decor, so I decided to use it as a planter. When I’m not using it as a purse.

I just filled with succulents. I think it's pretty cute, and it only cost $5! Hope you like it as well.

This could be fashionable or used for your home decor you pick! 😂 see more at Gilbert Marketplace
