    Hello Kellie,

Not easy, I bought some from China and was not successful. You have to keep them in the fridge to make them feel it winter. Then follow propagation as instructions, but as I said, I either didn't do it right or the temperature wasn't right, or I gave up to soon??

  • You can buy roses as bare root plants for cheap. But I would keep an eye out at Lowes and Home Depot for clearance plants and buy them at a discount. Give them lots of love and they'll rebound just fine.

Kellie: Lowes has a great discount section... check it out for roses.

I have never tried to grow roses from seed but I would think you have to let the rose hops dry completely before the seeds inside them would be fully developed. Your best bet would to be to go to the library and see if they have any books about it. Or maybe check on line for tips. I usually either buy the discounted roses from Lowes or Home Depot or ask for cuttings from friends if they have one that I like and root it. That is how I was able to get some of my old fashioned roses that still have the scents.
