How to repaint a 90 yr lamp--- it is 6' tall very slender tall stand with beautiful gold metal base ---- what colors were these..? What colors should be use

Yes, a picture would be very helpful. My husband buys and restores oil lamps, and many times he just cleans them up with soap, water, chlorox spray. A picture would help us to identify and help you keep the integrity of the period if that is what you wish.

I would spray paint it. And the color depends on your style.
