How to kill mold?

You are wrong regarding using bleach killing mold. Bleach only hides mold. It will show up in time again. The only thing that will kill mold or mildew is hydrogen peroxide. We learn that after Hurricane Harvey. If the mold is deep, then you need to replace the caulking.

White cleaning vinegar will also kill mold spores, 82% of mold species. You can combine with baking soda to kill other species of mold as well. Sadly people all buy into the chlorine bleach myth then find out only after they get sick.

I like hydrogen peroxide for an antiseptic. Especially around little kids. Clean all toys with it.

Hydrogen peroxide will kill all mold/mildew & gets rids of blood stains. The vinegar may clean your shower curtain, but the mildew will come back quicker. I use vinegar for all my laundry. It helps keeps white linens white, sheets, towels & socks, etc. It also is a fabric softener. Plus, I clean with it. I am 75 years old. Vinegar was the one thing we had to use growing up, besides bleach. Lol We did not have hair conditioning as you do today. We filled a large glass with warm water an put in a little vinegar & pored it over our hair. Wonderful conditioner. Makes your hair silky. No smell.

I agree with Kathy, vinegar is a great antibacterial/fungal agent. Bleach may be a decent antibacterial in a way, but has no antifungal properties at all, it just bleaches the stain and makes it look like it is gone.

    • My shower curtains go in the washing machine - where I use vinegar in the wash and rinse.

If vinegar doesn't work, if applied properly, then the pros need to be called in as the infestation is most likely extensive and requires professional remediation.

Mold is not an issue where I live as I have windows in my bathrooms along with exhaust fans. It is also scorching hot with very low humidity, typically less than 10% in summer.

If hydrogen peroxide worked for you, great!
