How To UpScale A Letter Board From the Dollar Store

Easy

I've had this lying around for a while but it was a bit on the cheap side so I thought I’d do a makeover and upscale it! Take this Dollar Store item and make it look boutique style for only $3!

What you’ll need

wood 1x1”

stain

white paint

one Dollar Store letter board

Open up the letter board and pull the edge off.

It has a hook on the back. You’ll want to remove it and save it.

I cut the wood to make a frame.

Once it was cut I laid it all out.

I nailed it together.

Now it’s ready to paint.

I dry brushed on white paint and let it dry.

Then I put my gloves on and grabbed a rag and wiped stain over the whole frame with special walnut.

Now it’s ready to put the letter board in. Just push it in and add some glue to the back to keep it in.

Now center the hook that we took off at the beginning.

Push in your letters to the board. You can write anything you want! Get creative!

It can be displayed anywhere.

Hope you like this upscaled project for only $3. It’s designer quality now!

Love the wood wall behind the bed! Did you do this yourself as well?? If so, would you do another tutorial on that? Love the little letter board, it's good positive reinforcement to wake up to!! Good job on all!
