Cut the tops off of the pop cans.

Cut petals out of the sides, but leave them attached to the bottom.

You want to do it with two cans and they should looks something like this. They should also nest into each other.

I cut a styrofoam ball in half and covered it with glue. Make sure you cover the whole thing with glue because we are going to spray paint it later. If it isn't sealed with the glue, the paint will dissolve the styrofoam.

I dipped the pushpins into the glue.

Then, I pressed it into the styrofoam ball. I did that until I had it covered in pushpins.

Viola!

I spray painted the pushpins.

I glued the two petals parts together.

Like this!

Then I ran a glue bead along the inside of the flower petals...

...and attached the pushpins. That makes the inner part of the flower.

I painted a dowel rod and drilled a hole and inserted it into the bottom of the flower.

That's it! You can find the full blogpost with additional directions, photos and video HERE: https://craftklatchwithmona.blogspot.com/2013/05/recycled-sunflower-garden-art-craft.html
