How to get stick down vinyl tiles to stay permanently?

You can lift the tile carefully and add some liquid preadhesive primer. Let it dry and then try to restick the tile. You can roll over the tile with a rolling pin and some good pressure. That might help. Or set something very heavy on the tile overnight.

When I laid my kitchen and bathroom vinyl stick on tiles over old vinyl I rolled on 2 coats of preadhesive primer. I have had no problems whatsoever and it's been years of traffic, kids and dogs! The unfortunate thing is that I don't think you can buy this in a small bottle but it sure won't hurt to look. You can find it at any home improvement store like a Menards, etc.

Hi Patricia, you need to ensure the surface you are putting them on is clean and that there is no loose material, once they are stuck on, they should not move. You could use heat to lift them and try to remove and debris and reclean before re applying them

Should have primed the old tile floor first with an adhesion bonding primer. Big chance the adhesive is compromised and won't stick well. You still can try lifting the tile and priming the old floor and see how it works out. Or you may need to use tile mastic to relay the new tiles if the adhesive doesn't hold.
