We have lots of old trees that are always dropping branches, so we have a ready supply of junk wood to use for garden projects. In this project we made these super cute garden signs.

Even if you don't have junk wood laying around or don't own power tools, you can still make these super easy Garden Signs or Plant Tags. Follow along and I will show you how.

Supplies Needed:

Branches or Limbs (If you don't have any in your yard, take a walk in the woods.)

No Branches or Limbs - You can purchase wood slices on Amazon

Small Dowels

Paint Markers

Krylon UV Protection Spray

First, slice the branches or limbs to a desired width. We sliced ours around 1/3 to 1/2 inch. If you have power tools, that's great. If not, a hand saw will totally work.

Next, drill a hole the size of your dowels. If you don't have a drill, simply glue the dowel to the back side of the wood slice.

Clip the dowels rods to the desired height. Ours measure 6 inches. Then simply insert the dowel into the hole you drilled. Add a little glue if necessary.

Use your paint markers to free hand whatever you want on your garden signs or plant markers.

As the last step, it's always a good idea to give outdoor DIY projects that use paint or paint markers a spray with a UV protection spray.

As some variations on these, you can use bigger wood slices, or smaller ones.
