How much of a colour change is the discolouration? Is this from normal foot traffic, or staining? If from staining, maybe those stains could be bleached or sanded out if considered light in intensity. Evening out the colour change may also be done using hour normal floor cleaning solution but using a green scrubbie, a light hand, working with the grain. Rince well.

I sprayed peroxide on my discolored oak floors and just let it sit. I kept an eye on it and resoaked with more peroxide. I just let it take its natural course. When it finally dried the discoloration was gone.
