Hello. I like the ease of a commercial ant trap— both indoors and outdoors. The Terro brand that I have used with great sucess with -is recommended quite highly. You can check out the reviews and Q&A here— to see if it would meet your needs. I recently set them up a few weeks ago and —problem is once again —solved.

Once you get these traps in place the ant problem is distant memory. They are very effortless, effective and cost-effective. They do not smell badly like an ant aerosol spray does.

I sometimes also use Terro outdoor versions— outside around the foundation perimeter as the ants can be seen under rocks and in my seasonal flowering planters, the do like shade and moisture.

    Aunt- is a parents sibling

Ants- pesky little bugs that get into everything...sometimes not much difference between the 2 other than size lol

For any you see you can spray a Mix of 50/50 water/vinegar solution on them directly.

Borax will kill odorous house ants, and powdered sugar will attract them.

Make a homemade ant bait by thoroughly mixing one part borax with 3 parts powdered sugar.

Fill tiny containers (such as bottle caps) with this homemade ant bait and place them as close to the place where you suspect ants are entering your house. If you see trails of ants, place small containers of the mixture directly in their path.

If you have children or pets I wouldn't recommend that remedy though unless you are able to put it in places they can't access you could try it this way if you have children or animals

mix one cup warm water with ½ cup sugar and 3 tablespoons borax. Soak it up with cotton balls and place them in shallow dishes near ant trails.

My kitchen has a lot of ants. I found a tiny space between some molding by a door where they were coming in. I caulked that up, and it solved the problem. Otherwise those ant traps they sell at places like Target and Walmart work well.

  • Hi Jean - Those little buggers are relentless, aren't they?!? This is the most effective method and all-natural spray DIY that we use with ants. It's best indoors, but will also work outside with more frequent applications. Hope this helps! Hugs, Holly
