Hi Tanya, here is how you use contact paper for privacy windows. Good luck with your project. Yes, all you need is clear contact paper to frost glass!

    1. Measure your window and cut your contact paper about 1/2″ wider than your window. ...
    2. Once you have your panel cut, you want to spray your glass panel with windex. ...
    3. Take your contact sheet and stick it to your panel with the windex on it.

They are great. I've used the frosted type to deter my pets from attacking the window glass. Measure out the window size. Draw that out on the paper backing. Clean the window glass of finger prints. Make sure you have a wooden ruler (6-12") or a plastic putty knife to chase out air bubbles. Remove part of the backing paper. Align it on the window and using your fingers lightly move out the air from the center to the edges. Remove the rest of the backing paper and repeat. Using the putty knife with gentle pressure chase out any remaining air bubbles from the centre to the outside edges.

There is now frosted glass paint too! You can simply paint the glass with it for privacy. When or if you don't want it that way, simply scrape the paint off the glass. No measuring, sticking, etc. Just mask off the areas you don't want sprayed with frost paint.

Are you committed to contact paper? I find it hard to work with and changing it out leaves lots of stickiness. I have used a can of frost window spray to make a window private. It washes off easily if you want to change it and it allows light to get through. If you do use contact paper, take your time, measure twice, cut once and use an exacto knife to clean up the corners. My thought is that contact paper works best as shelf liner because installing flat is easier than hanging installment. The cost of the window frost is around 2.79 and will provide many applications should you want to freshen it up. Good luck!
