Sherrie, there's chalk paint and then there's chalk board paint. Very different. Chalk board paint will turn any surface into a chalkboard and it's usually black or dark green. Chalk paint is a mineral fortified paint that adheres well to multiple surfaces. I personally do not like chalk paint on kitchen cabinets as it is not as durable as a latex enamel gloss paint. Hi Sherrie, I know some consider "chalk" paint is the answer to every painting project, but if those cabinets are going to get a lot of use, a harder finish paint is a better option. Paint with an additive to hide dents and dings is soft. The wax will assist in hardening the surface, but you will need to be sure and wax on a regular basis. If you're determined to use chalk paint, take down one door and practice on it. Better to have one door that needs to be redone then an entire kitchen if the look of the paint does not produce the finish you were anticipating.
