How to utilize small wall below open shelving in kitchen??

We don't want to put cupboards and a countertop on the bottom BELOW open cupboards. Any ideas?

A cabinet that sits on the floor. You could add a counter just for a microwave or other appliance. That would get the appliance off you main kitchen counter top and give you more counter space.

What about a cart or small bookcase?
