How do I get rid of footprints and filmy residue on laminate hardwood?
How do I get rid of filmy residue or footprints on prefinished or laminate hardwood? I have tried bono hardwood cleaner. Did not correct problem. I have tried distilled vinegar and warm water mixture one to three ratio. Did not work. I have mopped a small area and immediately then go back n dry with microfiber cloth . I can not find a product to clean floor that doesn’t leave a residue which shows footprints
Hi Barney: Here's a site that may help. https://www.thriftyfun.com/Getting-Rid-of-Footprints-on-Laminate-Floor-1.html
Good luck
Bona for laminate floors.
white vinegar, 1/2 cup in gallon water, damp mop.
I would try vinegar, it always gets rid of residue for me. I use a cup to a gallon of water.
Try a Mr Clean Magic Eraser. Test an inconspicuous spot first! When I can’t get something clean - I go for the Magic Eraser - works every time!!!
Are your floors dark? I have heard complaints like you have. No advice for you. I have oak colored laminate and use vinegar and water spray and then wipe dry.
There are some good points. But when I go to internet and visit various website and I found how to prevent footprints on laminate floors this article. It has lots of information about your search topic.
