A plain candle can be...boring. When looking to accessorize your party or home decor, look no further than that plain ole candle you have hidden in a drawer. You can add glam and texture in minutes!

All you need to give your plain candles a makeover is an adhesive stencil, some mod podge, and colored sand or non-flammable glitter. You can even finish it faster than you could get to the store and buy something...not to mention all the money that can be saved!

First, apply a stencil to the candle. This Mod Podge Rocks stencil by Plaid is made for easy cleanup.

Next, paint on the mod podge and remove the stencil.

Lastly, sprinkle the sand or non-flammable glitter over the top.

In minutes, you have a modern accessory with texture and glam...and you had it ready in minutes.

Suggested materials:

I had candles that I purchased with glitter on them. The glitter fell into the pool of melted wax as the candles burned. When a bit of glitter got close to the flame, there was a POP and it spattered melted wax on the surrounding area!
