How do I decorate my upstairs deck with plants to make a sitting area?

I have a rectangle tarp for shade which will need PVC piping to hold it up. There are two deck windows to avoid.

Use a variety of containers in different colors and sizes with plants that do well in your zone and deck lighting. You can use taller plants where there are no windows. Good luck!
Plants is containers of different sizes look so great on a deck around seating. A fern or an Imperial Palm (even potted herbs!) are excellent choices because they are easy to take care of and don't require full sun. A few candle lanterns mixed in would add additional ambiance! Hope this helps!

I would make sure to choose plants that can tolerate the sun/shade that you have on your deck. Choose planters in different sizes/colors to add some interest!
