How do I complete a shower niche?

My dads house has an unfinished shower wall niche, by default. How can I fill in the space to tile it?

Framing in a New Shower Niche
You could build up a box and place it into the niche. There is a wall fabric that is placed on the walls before tiling so be sure to look into this before starting to tile. It is waterproof and prevents damage to the walls.
