How do you find buried drip lines that have been covered?

Do you know who installed them??

Let everything get dry for a few days. Then turn on and follow the wet spots. Hands and knees and a bit of light digging - have a knee cushion or wear knee pads.

Trace from where it starts then take off gravel.

problem being that it was installed at the time of construction and the controllers are about 2 feet under. from there it goes under driveway and footpath. the only place water is found is at the tree and plants. I guess as a last resort I will have splice into where I can find lines at the bushes.
