Can you spray paint over chalk paint?

I have a table that has been painted with chalk paint, it has not been waxed yet. I changed my mind and want to spray paint it instead.

Yes you can, but use a primer first.

  I would not taker a chance. I paint alot so i would either sand the paint first or use a primer. Its up to you.

Use a fine grit sandpaper and just rough up the surface so the new paint has something to stick to. The most difficult part for me is to remember many light coats instead of 1 or two heavy coats. You don't want it to run.
