soak them in clorox water and then dry in the sun.

I just soak in clean water with a few drops of white vinegar and set in the sun to dry.
FYI........if you use vinegar better rinse rinse rinse it off, shells are made of calcium carbonate and Vinegar Dissolves Calcium Carbonate.
