How do I get rid of earrings in my potted plants?

    Wash the plants with soapy water and change the dirt. Clean all the roots to make sure there isn't any earwigs or eggs on the roots and replant in a clean pot. Clean the area where the plants sit. Leave the soapy water on the stems and leaves so when the bugs eat the leave they will get sick and die.

    I found Grandma's earring in the strawberry patch that she'd lost 3 years previous. How do you loose them in potted plants? What am I missing here?
