How do I repurpose an outdoor hot tub that no longer works?

    Yvonne I don’t think you can. They are too deep to plant in and no drainage.

    I would take the cabinet off and disassemble

    it. You don’t want kids or critters/pets getting stuck in it.

  • You can turn it into a giant planter. Put a plywood cover and use for outdoor storage during the summer. If still working, but you no longer want it, offer for sale or free to anyone who wants to make arrangements to move it.

    Unfortunately, often outdoor hot tubs become just 'big white elephants', for as Judy said, they really can not be repurposed. What you can do though is advertise it on Craigslist, as being available under Free Articles. Maybe somebody will want it for only what it might cost them to take it off your hands.

    Couldn't you make a false bottom, add some drainage holes and then use as an enormous planter?

    Purchasing clean fertilized dirt the amount required to fill a hot tub high enough to have it function as a planter may be pricey.

    By the time you pay for delivery, the project may not be cost effective.
