Mary: take away the roaches food source! No open bags, etc. Keep all pastas, cereal, flour, sugar in big plastic jars, etc.

I know this works for rodents but don't know about roaches.. I'd put everything in airtight containers. Make sure every crumb and other source of food is gone, things are sparkling clean.. mix corn meal with plaster of paris.. place close where they can get it,, several places--hidden spots--behind frig, or stove, back of pantry and such..

Here's a tried and true insect killer, that works on insects in Pa. 1 to 1 ratio of Boric acid ( found in drugstores) and powdered sugar. Mix well, place in damp dark places the creepy crawlers like to hide. Make sure you keep away from pets, and people. Good Luck!!!!
