How do I get a spot off of wooden dining room table from a hot plate?

How do you get a spot off of a wood dining room table from a hot dish? Thank you

    First always use,place mats,on wood. Try to lay a towel over it and iron the spot on med heat. That should remove the moisture causing the white spot . May take several tries. Don't get it too hot

    Tung oil or hemp oil can also help brighten up the wood from the mark that the hot plate left!

    Try mayonnaise, leave on for 1/2 hour and rub off.

    I've used Mayonnaise. I put some on and rub it in, the I pile it on, cover it (I turn a bowl upside down over the Mayonnaise) because it will turn opaque overnight. It has always worked for me. From inexpensive to expensive furniture pieces. Good luck! For the deeper or larger areas. It may take a few different tries. Always worked. The Amish taught me this trick years ago.
