How to revamp a concrete patio slab?

Concrete patio slab was poured with 1" wood divider pieces to form the slab in 5' x 5' section and finished roughly to emulate a Mexican motif. The wood in the joints has decayed and been replaced with self leveling caulk. I would like to make the slab more presentable than it is. Ideas anyone?

A self setting polymer joint sand will keep those expansion joints in place and look good for a long time. The sand comes in bags and has a few colors to choose from. Follow the directions closely and make sure you have removed any excess from the rest of the patio before wetting it down.

Polymeric sand is a good idea from KB. Dig out the caulk and clean the joints. You can replace the joints with cedar or mahogany which will last a lot longer if not forever.
