What is the easiest way to get rid of a popcorn ceiling?

I want to paint or do something with the ceiling. It's a popcorn ceiling and what would be the quickest way to get rid of it? Thank You!!!

Vexie....I could explain but your best bet is to Google and watch some of the videos...they explain very well. Good luck! I have to get started on this too!
Move all the furniture out. Lay down drop cloths. Wet a section and leave for a few minutes. Gently scrape off so you don’t get gouges in the plaster or drywall. Once you’ve done the whole room(s), smooth by adding a small amount of plaster to fill in any gouges and let dry. Sand and paint!
