How I to get rid of black carpenter ants mostly in the kitchen. Traps are of no use and I'm tired of swatting them dead.

Yeah, squashing them is not an efficient method of control.

I just had an exterminator out to take care of an infestation that made itself known last week. Paid $155 and he really didn't do all that much. Worth it though to have A professional apply the correct solution and correct amounts to eradicate the varmints while doing as little environmental damage as possible.
