Hi Cathy,
Start painting with chalk paint. When you're done you have to either wax it or use a spray seal to protect the chalk paint. There should be some help on your paint can and possibly a website where they offer help. Wishing you the best.
Hi ! Chalk paint is so easy to use ! No sanding or primer needed . I do suggest to use a damp cloth use water , NOT a wood cleaner and clean off any dust or dirt , let it dry off before painting . Then just paint you can leave it like it is or distress it a little by taking sandpaper and lightly sanding a few edges and a spot here or there. Then get a sealing wax in clear or antique finish . It goes on like a stain , ( liquid) rub or paint it on then wipe it off , it will dry to a hard finish not waxy . Have fun !!!!

I’m trying to go with the beachy look. Any suggestions on a color?
You can just paint it with the chalk paint. For a beachy look you could do a light blue, or a gray.
Thank you.
Oh this looks great!!! You can totally just paint it as this state with a chalk based or mineral based paint! I Love blues for a beachy look! Dixie Belle has some really pretty blues!
Hello, You could use a Primer on it first to even it out and seal it, then Chalk paint and then a Sealer coat of Wax.
