What paint to use?

my daughter bought an older house which has paneling in every room. we took it down in one room, her husband sanded the walls to get the glue off. I painted the room white with green triangles on one wall months later the glue marks are coming though the paint, like the walls are bleeding lol does anyone know of a certain type of paint to use? hope you can help its the babys room and we'd like to keep it white thanks hope to hear something soon:) barbara

You need to.use a stain blocker primer like Kilz. I'd do 2 coats to make sure

If the paneling is in good shape, why not paint over it? I did mine and am very happy with it. I just used a very good brand of paint. One room I did in satin and the other in flat paint.
