This was something done many years ago to repair cracks, not breaks and I'm not sure if it only worked on china or regular pottery or both. I have actually had a bowl repaired with a nut and bolt driven through to hold pieces together. Amazing what they did back then. I'm a fan of Gorilla glue and tape. I never tried that repair you see on TV that holds boats together or seals pools. Just make sure it's not toxic for wildlife.
we have used canned milk to repair broken pottery, and nicknacks. We place the milk on one side of broken parts and put them back together holding together with tape after a day we remove tape and put it back up on shelf away from little hands. This is a trick handed down from my Great grandmother.
