How can I make an easy outdoor walkway?

Need an easy and inexpensive idea for a walk way from main sidewalk to pool shed approximately sixty feet now just grass and ground. Also, any ideas on how to get rid of forget-me-nots forever. They are devouring my flower beds.

Hi Kathleen, I have forget me nots that also try to take over the whole flower bed. Once they are flowering, I just get in there and rip them out with my hands. I don't even bother to take the time to dig them out. If a couple get missed, they will flower and spread, but I just get rid of them when I notice them. You can get rid of a lot in one year.

For your walkway have you thought about making a pathway? You could buy cheaper paving stones (the larger ones) and place them in the ground. Or you could use pieces of pallet wood if you can get those for free. Here is a pic to show what I mean.

Thank you very much. I like the pallet wood idea a lot. Never thought of that. Will try the forget me not pulling thing. What a pain they are. But so cute when they have the tiny blue flowers. Mine are now in "burr" and they stick to everything. Thanks again.

You might want to try a flagstone walkway for your pool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QTUuWxBIrU8

Thanks a lot. I have so many that pulling them would take a month. And, it is so hot here right now I don't even feel like being outside. Thanks again.

Hi Kathleen. For a walkway you could use landscape fabric and stones. To get rid of forget me nots pull them out before they seed. They are very good at reseeding themselves. Good Luck.

Thanks a lot. Yes, I know they reseed - - - - a gazillion times. Mine are so out of hand, but I will keep pulling and see where I get. Thanks again.
