I use boxes, banket boxes, two sideboards and a base unit in the kitchen - each place has specific items, such as old jeans for refashioning, interfacing and fusible fleece etc.. My supplies are spread through out the house, but I know where everything is. I hope this helps. https://vickymyerscreations.co.uk/sewing-2/how-to-organize-a-sewing-room-on-a-budget/

Colorful attractive labeled baskets and boxes on shelves.

Use shoe storage units that go behind doors, wherever you wish and use those pockets for storage.

Clear bags from department stores, recycled makeup bags, etc. Hang them on walls where you can easily see contents and just pick whole clear bag off the wall when you need it.

Big cheap plastic toolboxes for miscellaneous or items you don't want to display. Fishing boxes work great for this as well.

Clear shoe boxes stacked somewhere horizontally. I say that because I once stacked into tall towers, which was not practical.

My husband puts all his painting supplies into one rolling suitcase, so he can just roll when he moves to a different painting location .

  • Baskets! I love using baskets for organizing. i usually get mine from Home goods/Marshalls/Tj maxx

Clear jars from the Dollar store with lids are great for storing small things. You can still see through them to see what you have.
