How do you put stone on vinyl carport?

I have vinyl on 2 sides of my carport BOTTOM Walls and want stone on them. (THE OTHER TOP HALF IS SCREEN) What do you have to put on before the stone is attached after you TAKE OFF THE VINYL? 7-2-19/3:32 pm cst

A neighbor did something similar
. He added concrete board over exterior plywood to beef up walls. What kind of stone? Veneer half stones or full sized. Hopefully another home talker can go into further detail.

Is the wall framed in with the vinyl on top of plywood? Or is the siding attached some other way? Stone is going to be heavy, even veneer. Make sure your wall can support the weight.
The veneer stone or 1/2 stones holds up to weather just like the full stone
