Hi mary,
Here's a link that claims to do this...but in all honesty, either put up a fence or do a raised garden so they cannot physically get into your plants.

Mammals can be deterred a couple ways. One sure way is to put out a box of moth balls. They evaporate into the air and will need to be replaced by end of season, but animals do not like them. Be aware of any neighborhood toddlers if your yard is unfenced and talk to any parents of toddlers so the children will not help them selves to putting one in their mouth. It might make them sick. Also, Irish soap shredded with a hand shredder helps get rid of some mammals. Some people spray jalapeno pepper oil on and around the plants. Hope one of these ideas helps, Mary.
