How do I get rid of bathroom mold for good?

My basement bathroom walls and door keeps growing mold on them. I scrub it off and it comes back again. The walls are painted cement block. Is there something I could install on top of block to stop the molding?

    Hi ! You need better ventilation! If there is a shower in there make sure the door is left open after the shower , to let the room dry out . If you have a vent use it as well . Another thing is put a squeegee in the shower and use it on the walls and door each time you use the shower , that will help get rid of excess water. Are a decorative idea take a jar or vase and put kitty litter ( instead of sand ) in it and a candle or some shells. Change the litter each week . Litter absorbs moisture.

    You need a vapor barrier then some green board then sheet wrock

  • Likely the warm moist air is condensing on the cool concrete block. Leave the door open as much as possible and try running a fan while showering as well as after.
