How does one get red hairdye out of a copper sink?

My friend got red hair dye in my new copper sink. How can I remove the stain without ruining the copper?

    Hi Christina,

I found this reference, but what I would do is contact the copper sink manufacturer and also the manufacturer of the hair dye and see what they have to say to solve your problem. Take both their answers and compare them and proceed from there with caution.

Definitely call the manufacturer of the sink.

If it ate the finish off & pitted the copper I'd be really pissed! Maybe just the sealer needs redone is the copper pitted or just stained? maybe you could post a picture it really depends on if it ate thru sealer &/or copper itself ; copper is such a soft metal one of my favorites did it turn green or is it pitted bumpy in that area? and you are still calling him/her friend I would for sure give them the bill for fixing, restoring or replacing your sink. try to post additional info. I may be able to help more if know extent of damage/staining.
