According to a website I googled...."Extender is similar to Fabric Medium or Textile Medium, but it is a thinner, easier-flowing formula than most. Some brands of fabric medium, perhaps all, and most fabric paints,"
An Extender is used for extending the "open" or working time of paints and mediums. Extender is used to slow the drying of paint so that the paint doesn't dry before you are finished working with it.
Fabric Medium is used to thin the acrylic hardness of paint in order to make the paint dry to a "softer" more pliable finish. In other words, your painted fabric will not dry as stiff. Hope this helps.
Totally depends on the medium you are using,by mixing your medium of choice into your base paint, you can make your paint thicker, thinner, shinier, textured and even change how long it takes to dry.
