I got a very old screen door. It is made of 2x4's and put together with tongue and groove. How can I get it apart w/o tearing it up!
Hi Ressa you can buy just a roll of screen and stretch it on a frame etc. But I don't think that would be any cheaper then just buying the magnetic screens. I have three of them on my house - they work great. The regular doorway ones are only about $25. I even mentioned them in a blog entry last summer lol https://www.grandmashousediy.com/healthier-life/
Cheaper to buy a screen door that has magnets down the middle than try to make your own.
I agree. By the time you build a frame, brace it, add hinges and a latch, screen, then trim it out, then paint it. You can buy a screen door.
The one with magnets (I paid $9.99 at a big box pharmacy) works great and lets you pass through easily even if your hands are full...
