Updating Kitchen Cabinets With Mirror, Glass & Stain

Here is a before and after on how I updated my two workhorse cabinets in my kitchen that house my plates and drinking glasses. The mirror is 1/4" thick and the price ranged (depending on size) between 30 to 40 dollars for each piece. The glass shelves are 1/2" thick with the front edge polished. and each one ranged 35 to 42 dollars each. I used the thicker glass so a couple of years from now you wont see the glass starting to sag under the weight of my dishes. The glassware cabinet I could have gone with thinner pieces to save money but wanted a consistent look since both cabinets are side by side.

There is a large window on the opposite wall of these cabinets. So when the sun pours, in the light bounces around like I have a sky light. It is amazing!

I want to do this to a couple of bookcases for our dining room. I have a large collection of cobalt blue glass and amber glass. This is a wonderful idea and you did a fantastic job on yours. I too, like the idea of reflecting the light from the windows. Thumbs up!!
